Washington Square Apartment
The apartment, located within a 1905 Beaux Arts building in Greenwich Village, was originally composed of a rambling 28 rooms. We reworked the layout and opened up interior views to bring clarity to the living experience. The new heart of the apartment– a living salon, kitchen, and dining area– looks out over Washington Square Park. From there, two main wings form the primary bedroom suite and the children’s suite. A family room lined with bookshelves and game cabinets can be secluded behind Harmon doors or seamlessly connected to the living salon. Through the renovation, we uncovered original cast iron columns, plaster moldings, and stained glass windows, which we wove together with new elements of leathered marble, sycamore wood, and handmade ceramic tiles.
