Elementary School Library

We have re-envisioned this children’s library, within the walls of a bustling elementary school, to serve a new generation of learners. Though paper books are still very much at its center, the space itself will transform to meet diverse modes of learning, teaching, and socializing. To create visual clarity through the original multi-room space, we carved new openings through the walls and reorganized the various parts of the library program. Along the perimeter, the book collection is now open and accessible, inviting students to browse new titles. The bright, interactive furniture elements create follies for activity– reading, quiet work, or group discussions. The flexible furniture can be recombined to accommodate small group teaching, authors’ visits, private tutoring, and self-directed learning.
